Sunny days are just a booking away! Club Med – Marbella

Following a short flight to Malaga, we hired a car and drove ourselves to Club Med Marbella rather than choosing a transfer. It is a simple drive and easy to find, you then have the freedom to tour the area should you choose to be independent. Alternatively, there are a range of interesting trips that can be booked from the resort.

As ever, we were given a warm Club Med welcome with refreshments on our arrival.

Our room overlooked the main pool, Marbella Town, and the glistening Mediterranean Sea. I also checked out the non-sea view rooms which were just as stunning with a wonderful colourful mountain view. The Andalusian colour schemes throughout the resort vary from floor to floor. Each piece of artwork throughout the resort is breathtakingly stunning.

The all-inclusive stunning Arab-Andalusian inspired restaurant has the most incredible view over the bay, and there is always plenty of choice for either indoor or outdoor seating. The choice is too vast to describe. Spanish paella and plenty of choice of European inspired dishes including numerous choices of meat, fish vegetables fresh salads, pizza, and pasta, all followed by exceptional patisserie, deserts, fresh fruit, and choices of ice cream daily. The top-quality wine is included with all your meals, and you have the choice of red, white, or rose along with still or sparkling water.

The choice of five pools around this lush resort including an indoor pool for the cooler weather means you always have somewhere to sunbathe or swim. Children have a choice of pools, and even have their own water play area and a zip-wire and mini-gold to keep the whole family entertained. The Children’s clubs are cleverly designed and even have their own sheltered pool for added activities.

Club Med Marbella has world experts in Trapeze and Circus skills ready to train all guests of every age and ability. The super skilled performers also produce a show for your evening’s entertainment which will blow you away.

We took a stroll up to the Zen pool, a quiet area for adults only where you are welcomed with a smile and a cool drink, coffee or freshly made fruit smoothly of the day. Drinks and snacks are provided throughout the day. The pool is a great size for swimming lengths or simply just to cool down. The Zen area offers stunning views of Marbella and the sea, and comfortable sun loungers’ beds in the sun or shade.

Club Med Marbella offers the best quality new tennis and Padel courts in the area. Top quality lessons are available for both types of tennis and golf. Padel tennis has been around Marbella for nearly 50 years but is a fairly new racket sport for us Brits. It is super fun and must be tried. There is an excellent archery area with lessons included in your stay along with a fully equipped gym and a range of fitness activities of all levels.

It is just a short stroll to the picturesque town and beach of Marbella, lined with white houses, golden beach, and plenty of shopping opportunities.

Club Med is located both close to Estepona and Torremolinos offer you the opportunity to discover Spain and immerse yourself in the fascinating and historical culture of the region.

Club Med Alpe D’Huez

My eyes welled up with emotion as the sun shone brightly in the brightest blue sky surrounded by pure white snow and picture-perfect fir trees painted with snow. I was surrounded by happy people laughing and dancing in full ski gear whilst enjoying hot spiced wine, soft drinks, the most delicious of cheeses and salamis. I felt as if our ECT founder Daniel was truly smiling down on us.

This is the scene that welcomed me back after a morning of skiing. The first time I had hit the slopes in over 30 years! I totally surprised myself that I could still ski, all be it badly and severely lacking confidence. However, the Club Med approved instructors are all phenomenal. They are all from the French Ski School, or the Ski School of whichever country you are visiting. They took great care to ensure I did not go in a group too challenging for me and helped me gain confidence again on the slopes.

This short trip with Club Med showed that with all the tests and results required to fly anything is possible, and definitely well worth the effort.

Club Med’s standard of top-quality cuisine and a huge variety of choice along with great entertainment had not changed. The service from all the staff was top quality and every effort was made to ensure we had the best time from the moment we walked through the door until we left.

Club Med Marrakech

After staying one night in the busy Riyad and visiting the Majorelle Gardens, myself and David took a short taxi ride to Club Med Marrakech. We received the warmest of welcome’s prior to being taken to our wonderful room with a small patio and cool garden.

Everywhere smelt beautifully of local rose water, and the gardens are a pure delight to wander and relax. There are stunning waterways and an array of plants throughout the entire resort.

The choice of two magnificent swimming pools gave us a choice of chilling in the peaceful adult only Zen Zone or swimming long lengths in the beautifully designed main pool where we joined in the aqua & Zumba classes. At both pools, we always found comfortable loungers in either the sun or shade. The incredible staff were always on hand and happy to help. The bar was always open and to be able to enjoy drinks and tasty snacks around the pool throughout the day was a real treat.

As ever, the cuisine was outstanding with a good choice of both local dishes as well as European standard food for the less adventurous. The waiting staff were beyond helpful and charming, and the wines were excellent. Each meal was rounded up with the best tasting ice cream and a traditional mint tea.

There were plenty of activities and sports on offer, and I even joined a group on a mountain bike excursion outside the resort exploring the local area. It was a challenge, but well worth the effort.

Each evening was very special, but the white night was magical on another level. I can’t go into further details as I don’t want to spoil it for you for when you go but here’s a taster.
